Oil Water Separators

Innovative Oil Water Separators for Waste Water Solutions

Cascade Water Recycle Systems can help you remove oil from your operation’s waste water with our innovative oil water separators. Many people and companies depend on these devices to separate and then discharge oil from the water they subsequently discard. We make sure to install with great care your oil water separators and maintain or service them as needed.

Processing Mode

Oily water is drawn from the holding tank in to the separator, with suction provided by a positive placement pump on the discharge side of the separator.

Several separation zones are created by the inlet weir and baffle, 2 coalescer beds, and the quiescent water spaces between them.

The upper zone of the tank enhances gravity separation. The inlet baffle diverts the flow away from the upper coalescer bed, enabling oil droplets to float to the tank top. The inlet weir divides the oil accumulated in the tank top from the inlet flow.

the polypropylene granules contained in the coalescer beds attracts oil and repel water, (oleophylic-hydrophobic), allowing water to flow through, while the oil remains behind on the surface of the polypropylene. These oil droplets accumulate in the beds and grow in size, then become buoyant and float to the tank top.

The clarified effluent exits through the outlet in the tank bottom and is discharged by the pump

Oil Discharge Mode

When the lower interface probe detects oil, the system enters the Oil Discharge Mode. The pump stops and the automatic valves switch to allow backflush water into the tank bottom. This water backflushes the coalescer beds while at the same time displacing collected oil from the top to a slop tank.

Manual Backflush

A manual push-button positions all valves for manual back-flushing, with the backflush water directed to the holding tank.

Bilge Alarms/Monitors

The APT-OWS is compatible with all approved 15 ppm bilge alarms and 15/100ppm monitors, with either one installed as a customer option. Automatic recirculation or shutdown function are provided with the unit as required. Remote alarms and chart recorders are also available.

Oily Water Separators Specifications

Oily Water Separators are available in two types in sizes rated at 4, 8, 16, and 25 gpm flow. The separators can be throttled to achieve intermediate flows, and in some circumstances be operated at higher flows.

INFORMATION & TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION BY MODEl

OILY WATER SEPARATORS WITH PVC HOUSINGS

Housing construction is polyvinylchloride (PVC) for the utility type. Components are high quality and the separators are designed for long, trouble-free service life. Maintenance required is minimal, but it is important that it be performed to ensure proper operation. Separation means is by a polypropylene bead pack. Dual element sensing probes are utilized to more positively determine the oil level and discharge the oil when necessary.
